RH300 RHCE Rapid Track Course

It sure was rapid. I'm installing to practice. For that I have to sacrifice my Ubuntu installation.

15 minutes later.. Everything's done..

Boot.. wireless not working.. This worked automatically with Ubuntu..

What wireless adapter do I have? hmm..

[root@localhost ~]# lspci | grep Wireless

Insert Supplementary CD.. automounts..

[root@localhost Supplementary]# pwd

[root@localhost Supplementary]# ls | grep 3945
ipw3945d-1.7.22-2.el5.i386.rpm
ipw3945-ucode-1.14.2-1.el5.noarch.rpm

kmod-ipw3945-xen-1.2.0-4.8.el5.i686.rpm

install all but *xen*.. don't need that atm..

Let's start the services at boot..

[root@localhost Supplementary]# chkconfig ipw3945d on
[root@localhost Supplementary]# chkconfig NetworkManager on
[root@localhost Supplementary]# chkconfig NetworkManagerDispatcher on

reboot..

NetworkManager daemon will display a connection manager applet in gnome.. click.. select wireless AP.. I'm good to go..
