Call me a donkey if you must but I only found out yesterday that we can save lyrics to the tracks and then display them while the track's playing.
On the iPhone..
Tap the screen..
erm.. for the iPod Nano, clicking the center button a few times will cycle truh the options and finally display the lyrics ;-)..

I have ipod NANO but how to make the lyrics appear.. ??? Damn i didn't know this..
ahh the nano.. a sweet piece of device!!!
ok ok.. first from iTunes, right click on the song, 'get info', then in the various tabs there's a 'lyrics' ya.. paste the lyrics there, then sync with ya nano..
from the nano, while u'r playing the track, press the OK button (center of the wheel) repetitiously n u'll see the lyrics displayed in one of the options ;-)
