Mich bought me dinner tonite, wh00pie! the apartment at The Curve was where we were at.
Concept: Apartment (literally)
Pretty cool concept, area designed like and apartment, there's the living / dining / balcony area.. heard there's a bedroom upstairs even (this I didn't visit).
Pretty neat menu. Simple and easily replaced.
Mich immediately noticed it was graph paper. The sort we used in high sikul. Gosh that brought back some nasty memories.
We were at the balcony, Mich seeking answers from.. the Menu..
Pretty neat cup huh.. Fits the palm & fingers grasp nicely. Gotta get meself a set I SAY!
Our food.. very different I'd say. My dory came topped with baked cheese and tomatoes. Mich had a raspberry duck thigh and the clams were in spicy sauce, very much like our 'seong tong lala' and the bread kinda replace the 'man tao' haha! A different experience, I would say the food we tried were nice. Fusion style!
camera phone's nasty with low lights.

A visit to SOHO at One Utama
Mich worked truh the weekend for a warehouse sale. Poor baby.. So on Sunday evening when it ended, I thought "Why don't I pamper her with some nice food?". Off we went digging into our data banks. Where to eat? What to eat?
We ended up in SOHO at One Utama.
Pleasantly contemporary for a Chinese cuisine!
Where's my lady?
I'm on my throne.
Yellow Lake Grass tea. I'd say it'd take some time to get used to. The aroma reminded me quite a bit on the days I spent in the ditch fishing for guppy.
Century egg, chicken egg, salted egg (3 yolk) and vege in a delicious sauce! Awesome!
Pan fried dumpling. Man this is different. I luv em'. Where there are, I'd try em'. These are elite! I don't know how to describe food. But HELL you gotta try these!
Mongolian Rib Eye huh.. With sliced muchrooms and ginger huh.. Fancy name, does it live up to it? Blardy testicles!!! These fellas are so damn delicious! They're like steak sliced into cubes! Definitely worth it!
We had splendid fried rice too, guess I forgot to foto-fy it haha. Food blurs a person's judgement!
Aww.. what's this? Asking for trouble? Our teapot's tea leaf chamber in bad shape. I actually checked if there were any glass fragments in our tea, that's after drinking 3/4 of it~
Beside the chipped tea pot chamber(I really dunno what's this called), the food was awesome!!! A lil' pricey but well worth the money for a pampering occasion.

Holistic Approach to Fighting Illness
hei miàn shàng jiàng - Black Face General. What a stunning name!
You can read about this herb from Guang Ming, one of our local Chinese news papers. The article features a lady who's family was stricken with cancer ailments and how she used this herb to save some.
Guang Ming article dated 17th Dec 2006. Page B6
Boil it and bottoms UP!
Anyone knows the scientific name for this plant? Please leave a comment.

Holistic Approach to Fighting Illness
Various cultures have their beliefs when treating illnesses. Very often the holistic method is favored. Mother nature holds many keys to many areas. One area is where herbs contain medicinal values that even the latest medical science fail to prove. However the results are often stunning.
Ma Cao - Horse Grass. This is named as such as it's staple food to the horses in Taiwan. Looks somewhat like pandan leaves or even lalang!
I've been told that this fella has values that are similar to poison to cancer cells. What you do with it? Juice it and bottoms UP!

Snap*snap*snap* grrr~
We can try a gazillion times. Have a jar full of patience. Chances are high we'd give up for the moment. Photographing animals is one challenge I love. The single best shot out of hundreds is enough to paste a smile on our faces.
August, Mich's miniature schnauzer looking all pretty.

Bora Asmara
We, the city dwellers often seek places to relax. This is one place that gives you an out-of-town feel. Best part? It's only 5 KMs from Ikea / Taman Tun Dr. Ismail / 1 Utama!!! Some where in Kampung Pencala, there's a gem to be discovered.
We were comfortably(ahem*) crossed legged under our nice pre-booked gazebo.. with bolsters for us to lean back on.. after our dinner, some entertainment came along. The band was such a nice sport that they even played us a Cantonese title!
Definitely a place to relax with top notch ambience, but I must say I wasn't impressed with the food per say. One stood out from the rest.. oh the yummy Pulut Tapai was awesome! That of course was dessert.

Japanese Restaurant With a Twist
Sushi Groove @ 1 Utama. It's website itself tells a different story.
I've been to this place twice already, many more visits to come. As we enter, we're greeted with a unanimous greet "GroOOoOooovy!". That lays the mood just right ;-).
Fusion Dragon Roll, my absolute fav.!

GSC the MEGATRON
Transformers the Movie at Golden Screen Cinemas at Mid Valley Megamall.
I'm far behind, some friends are even going for the 3rd time. Finally managed to got my tickets. Mich & I were very eager and excited to catch the show.
I went to collect the tickets. Look at the long curly line. Yeh we Malaysians love catching a show at the silver screen. Phew~ good thing I purchased online..
Went in on the dot. Lights went out, some audio played, no picture. I wondered if it was a marketing stunt. Everything stopped. Lights came back on. We waited, patiently.. 10 minutes passed.. and another 10.. and another 10.. people were getting impatient. I was getting bored.
Then after making us wait over 30 mins, some guy came up and announced "Ladies and gentlemen.. I apologies... bla bla bla ...". Technical difficulties. GSC would refund our tickets. Do you think the crowd took it well? Some queued in that gawd forsaken long line. Myself drove a long way. Payed parking fee. Wasted time. bla bla bla.. Crowd surrounding the scapegoat.
15 minutes of idiotic 'discussion' and the scapegoat stormed out of the hall saying something like "If you wanna stay here for the next 2 hours, go ahead I can't stop you. Technical I can't see" I guess he meant foresee.
Short drama. Okay time to move our butts.
Look at the queue of frustrated patrons. Now we gotta queue for our refund.
Screw it, Mich & me headed to Madam Kwan's for dinner. At least the food was good.
What the moral here. The people running the show in this outlet knows nuts about customer service. Either that or they don't give a shit. No compensation, no vouchers, no re-scheduling, NOTHING!!! Oh and a very rude(in the end of the drama) scapegoat. KNS!
Oh I went back later to collect my refund.

Donut., We'll Miss You..
When we have a dog(or any other pet) we soon form a bond with him. He will soon buy his way into the family and you'll perhaps soon be calling him loving names, I call Yoda "son" most of the time. He is part of my family, we love him as family.
A few days back I received word that one of our friend's pug passed away unexpectedly from kidney failure. At a young age of 2. Read about Donut's journey here.

Steam Boat Dinner!
What's the simplest dinner you can pull for a few friends? Chips and some Coke sounds like a good idea eh?
Steam Boat's perhaps one of the favs as it's simple to prepare and it's jolly fun with frens!
Beef balls, tofu, crab sticks, fish balls, dunno-wat-fish-sticks, fu chuk, half a roast duck, 3 bowls of greens, pork slices and kenneth's own home made dunno-how-to-name-it chili paste!
Tiger and Carlsberg for the men, flavored green tea for the ladies.
The spread at Kenneth's, for just the 4 of us. We ate.. and ate.. and ate.. classic case of over eating haha!
BuRppp~

The Best Food at the Best Prices at perhaps not the Best Places.
Who in Malaysia can argue this? That the best food at the best prices comes from the hawkers who are perhaps not at the best places? By the drain? Dark alleys? Stench from a nearby dump? Poorly lit places? Tables about to rot?
Ok ok perhaps I'm over exaggerating ;-)
My fav. by the road side roast duck stall near my place. On weekends he's be on his way home around 4p.m.. Oh yeh, he sets up his stall a lil' past 12p.m.

How Does a Hypermart in Malaysia Look Like?
Carrefour is one of the hypermart giants in Malaysia with Giant and Tesco being it's stiffest competitors.
Look out for "the BIGGER Deals!", if they are stuff that you so happen need, then it's a bargain not to be missed.
Junk / preserved food corner. As you can see, you'll be spoilt silly with choices.
Fruits anyone?
Ahh the wet area.. Surprisingly odorless and dry.. How how can it be dry if it's a wet area?!
The truth is revealed! The mysterious agent that keeps the place dry!
Snake curly queues possibly illustrates the crowd.. take u anywhere from 10 - 20 mins before you reach the counter.

Entertainment @ Cineleisure
Watch the 8 ball..
Same floor as the cinema, you'd find an entertainment 'outlet' with pool tables, foozball and karaoke kiosks. What made me wanna blog about this is, heck I'm not sure if these kinda karaoke kiosks exists anywhere else?
Mini karaoke kiosks, fit for 2. Of course you could at times see 4 flers in there..
