Bunnik - Utrecht
The hike was an experience of a lifetime!
I've never been in the rain for more than 5 minutes. Of course I'm discounting the adolescence stage where playing in the rain was something to look forward to.
On that day itself, I've covered a distance on foot far longer than the entire of 2006 in Malaysia!
I cannot imagine if it was spring, I guess the scenery would be beyond my tropical comprehension, but I could bet the breathe taking bit..
Thanks Ton, for making this real. Thanks Juliana, Kok Boon and Ton for an absolutely wonderful time!
Oh yeh.. Once we had dinner.. we took a train ride back to Bunnik.
A 5 minute ride..
Our hike started from Bunnik at about 10:45 in the morning and lasted till about 7 in the evening..
A 5 minute train ride brought us back to Bunnik..

Bunnik - Utrecht _ Part 3
Utrecht town, Ton mentioned that this is the only town in Netherlands that have seatings right by the canals. Simply awesome..
Beeeeeeer! Well we were counting the number of years this pub has been around.. oh memory fails me. I had some kinda beer that was absolutely delicious! Home brew'd of course ;-). This pub was so warm and dry, in about 10 minutes we felt ourselves drying up, literally, we were in the rain most of the time remember? How wonderful that was..
When you're drunk.. follow the blue lights on the ground.. they will lead you to euphoria..

Bunnik - Utrecht _ Part 2
Dom Tower of Utrecht.. Breathe taking in my books..
Read more about the church here and here.
Again because of the rain I wasn't able to take the fotos I wanted to..
Ton and Kok Boon showing off their musical talents..
The Church's bells, imagine the size of them..
All producing the same frequency..
Behind this wall is the staircase to the upper floor. We weren't able to make it as the winds were too strong..
Pretty small walk ways..
Where a storm won..
Utrecht.. Part of it ;-)

Bunnik - Utrecht _ Part 1
I had only 1 weekend in Netherlands, I intended to make full use of it. How could I not visit Amsterdam? So that took me a day, as you've seen in my previous posts. How about Sunday?
Ton invited a few Malaysians to go for a hike. Ok I must admit I'm not near physically fit, well hiking wasn't on top of the list.
But then again what really matters where ever you go or what ever you do, it could be the most monotonous things, but when the company's good.. well everything else's good!
Ton warned "It's gonna be wet and muddy. Wear a good pair of shoes."
Jason thought "Hmmm.. well I got me Timberlands.."
The route..
Ok I'm not from a cave, but this is the first time I laid eyes on brussels sprout..
Some hut some where, I think we were still in Bunnik..
Again, me first time seeing willows. Well, bald ones ;-)..
Beautiful.. beautiful..
Now, Ton's words were coming through.. MUD!
Me gr8 company! From the left: Juliana, Kok Boon, Ton..
ooOOoOOoOooo don't you wish u were here ;-)...
Take a sharp left.. and find a pot of gold!
After don't know how many hours of strolling and enjoying the cold and rain. Oh yeh, it was raining, thus the lack of fotos. I so regretted I wasn't prepared for the rain. Could've gotten a hood fer me cam. The amount of fotos I had to miss, that kinda sin is never forgivable!
Our second stop at a diner.. Time to get some food and warmth..
My love affair with Ms. Leffe started here.. I owe it to Ton.. Belgian, sweet, strong, ooOOoOooo I tell ya!
I'm having her right now.. mmMMmmm..
Readily available at some hypermarkets.. I got mine for RM11.50 for a 33cl bottle.
Ton generously going through the items in the menu..
Did you wonder why KB's partially wet? Well he's a hero I tell ya! The truth will be revealed!
