BBQ Chicken Wings

So often we don't know what's just round the corner or nearby.. This place in Menjalara is 7 minutes drive away and I never knew about it. It was Kelvin and Debbie that told me about these succulent BBQ chicken wings last week and I was like 'whuuuuuat?!'. So right now I have 10 wings, RM2 per piece, sitting right beside me. Smelling goooood... tasting simply lovely!

Lata Kinjang Waterfall

Those who travel north passing Perak would've seen signboards with the letters "Lata Kinjang" waterfall / air terjun. I've seen it so many times but it never crossed my mind to visit the place. Last weekend I had the chance. I wondered why I never visited the place as it was one heck of a relaxing time we had!

What I love most? A 15 minutes stroll from where you park will take you up to the sweet spot of the waterfall. Yes, 15 minutes.. not a 2 hour hike or anything like that.

What did we do there? Sit around and relax.. literally.. The fresh air and negative ions sure does a tonne of good to the city dwellers.. a must visit!

40+ year old whisky

So how does a 40+ year old bottle of whisky look like? Pretty much the same huh.. But how is the taste? :-) it's smooth, it somehow didn't taste as strong/harsh.. in simple words.. pure heaven..

Neat.. didn't want any rocks to dilute the mmm oh so heavenly fluid..

Early evening at Saint Anne's Church, Bukit Mertajam.. I always make it a point to pay the church a visit when I'm there. Not to say I say any prayers or stuff like tht.. but.. but.. hmm.. who knows, I just go there :-)

If you'd put on your imagination hat, you'd perhaps see the front water squirting resembles the statue..

Sticky Pad?

This trip up to Penang we had a new friend born and bred in Singapore with us. Before dinner was served.. Somewhere in Tambun..

Roadside Stalls

You'd fins stalls like these in almost every part of Malaysia. Perhaps not along the main streets of the city but who knows what you'd find just round the corner? Don't worry too much about the 'looks', these stalls provide us with really great tasting food at very reasonable prices!

This was taken on the way down from Kek Lok Si temple. A highly recommended "Hokkein Mee" spot.

Canon 40D Weatherproof?

The weather wasn't too pleasant during my recent visit to Kek Lok Si Temple in Penang. It started to rain when we parked our car. All I had was my 40D mounted with a 24-15mm f/4.0 L IS USM, no bag.

So I carried an umbrella protecting myself and the camera during the short walk to the temple. Once within the temple's vicinity, darn it was hard to shoot with an umbrella and worrying as not all parts of the temple is covered. So how now brown cow?

Well I know L lenses are protected from the elements, how about the camera body? There's quite a lot of talk on the validity of the Canon 40D with some claims of it being weatherproof. So I decided to take a chance.. Passed the umbrella along and off I was in the heavy drizzle with the camera strapped around my shoulder.. Talk about taking chances huh..

At the end of our visit, back in the car, I noticed the camera was rather wet.. thus this foto..
